How ImageDPIChanger.com handles privacy for its free, browser-based image DPI metadata tool.

Last updated: 2026-06-27

Overview

ImageDPIChanger is a free image DPI metadata tool available at ImageDPIChanger.com. It is designed for a narrow purpose: helping you change DPI/PPI metadata in supported image files without creating an account, paying for a plan, or uploading your images to our servers.

This Privacy Policy explains what ImageDPIChanger does and does not collect when you use the public image DPI changer. It applies to ImageDPIChanger.com and not to websites, apps, or services that we do not operate.

What ImageDPIChanger Does

ImageDPIChanger changes metadata that tells software how to interpret an image's print density. For supported PNG and JPEG files, the tool updates DPI-related metadata in your browser and prepares a corrected download on the same device.

Changing DPI metadata does not add pixels, improve image quality, or turn a low-resolution file into a high-resolution file. It only changes the metadata that many printers, document systems, and submission portals check.

Our Privacy Position

The public ImageDPIChanger tool is built to avoid personal-data collection wherever possible.

  • You do not need an account to use the DPI changer.
  • You do not need to provide your name, email address, phone number, billing details, or profile information.
  • We do not charge for the public DPI changer.
  • We do not ask you to upload original images or converted images.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising.

If ImageDPIChanger later adds optional accounts, support forms, analytics, paid features, or any other feature that changes these practices, this policy should be updated before those features collect related information.

Your Images and Conversion Data

When you select an image in the public DPI changer, your browser reads the file locally. The conversion happens in browser memory, and the converted file is generated for download on your device.

ImageDPIChanger does not intentionally receive, upload, store, inspect, or keep copies of:

  • your original images;
  • your converted images;
  • image filenames beyond what your own browser displays during the session;
  • DPI values you choose for a specific file;
  • conversion history or download history.

You retain all rights to your images. Because the public tool does not upload your files to ImageDPIChanger, we do not claim ownership of them and do not receive a license to use them.

Information We Do Not Ask For

ImageDPIChanger does not ask users of the public DPI changer to provide:

  • account credentials;
  • email addresses;
  • payment information;
  • postal addresses;
  • government identifiers;
  • customer profiles;
  • marketing preferences;
  • uploaded image content.

Please do not send us sensitive personal information unless we specifically request it for a clearly stated purpose.

Technical Information Needed to Deliver the Website

Even a privacy-first website must be delivered through browsers, networks, hosting providers, and security systems. When you load ImageDPIChanger.com, technical request information may be processed as part of normal website delivery, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, requested URL, date and time, and basic security events.

ImageDPIChanger does not use this technical request information to identify you, build a user profile, track you across websites, sell your information, or target advertising. It may be processed only as reasonably necessary to:

  • deliver the website to your browser;
  • maintain availability, performance, and security;
  • detect abuse, attacks, or service errors;
  • comply with legal obligations.

If hosting or security logs are generated by our infrastructure providers, they should be retained only for as long as reasonably needed for those purposes.

Cookies, Local Storage, and Tracking

The public DPI changer does not require tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site behavioral tracking.

Your browser may store local preferences on your own device, such as theme, language, or temporary interface state. These preferences are used to make the site work better for you and are not needed for us to identify you. You can clear cookies and local site data through your browser settings.

ImageDPIChanger does not currently use advertising pixels, remarketing tags, third-party marketing trackers, or payment processors for the public DPI changer. If that changes, this policy should be updated before those tools are enabled.

Third-Party Services

The public DPI changer is intended to work without image upload endpoints or payment processors. Standard hosting, CDN, DNS, browser, and security providers may still process technical data needed to serve the website.

If ImageDPIChanger links to third-party websites, those websites have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or privacy policies.

Disclosure of Information

Because the public DPI changer is designed not to receive your images or account data, there is usually no user content for us to disclose.

We may disclose limited technical information only when reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with law, legal process, or government requests;
  • protect ImageDPIChanger, users, or the public from fraud, abuse, or security threats;
  • operate the website through service providers acting on our behalf.

We do not sell personal information.

Data Retention

ImageDPIChanger does not retain your original or converted images because the public tool processes them locally in your browser.

Files you download remain on your device until you delete them. Browser preferences or temporary local data remain under your control and can be cleared in your browser settings. Any technical hosting or security logs, if generated, should be kept only for a limited period needed for operation, security, debugging, or legal compliance.

Security

Local browser processing reduces the privacy risk associated with uploading image files to a remote converter. However, no website, browser, network, or device is perfectly secure.

You are responsible for protecting your own device, browser, downloads, and copies of converted files. Avoid using public or untrusted devices for private images.

Children

ImageDPIChanger is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to ImageDPIChanger, please contact us through the contact method provided on ImageDPIChanger.com so we can review and respond.

Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Because the public DPI changer does not require an account and does not intentionally store your images or personal profile, ImageDPIChanger may not have account data to access, correct, export, or delete.

You can:

  • choose not to select an image file;
  • clear local browser data for ImageDPIChanger.com;
  • delete downloaded converted files from your device;
  • contact us with privacy questions through the contact method provided on ImageDPIChanger.com.

If a privacy law applies to you and you make a verified request, we will respond as required by that law based on the information, if any, that ImageDPIChanger maintains.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the website, legal requirements, or our practices change. The updated date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised. If we make material changes, we will provide notice in a reasonable way, such as updating this page.
