Terms for using the free ImageDPIChanger.com browser-based image DPI metadata tool.

Last updated: 2026-06-27

Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of ImageDPIChanger.com and the public ImageDPIChanger image DPI metadata tool. By accessing or using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website.

The Service

ImageDPIChanger provides a free, browser-based utility for changing DPI/PPI metadata in supported image files. The public tool is intended for PNG and JPEG files and works by updating metadata that certain printers, document systems, image viewers, and upload portals may read.

ImageDPIChanger is not a full image editor, image enhancer, print-prepress service, archival system, or professional design review service.

Free Use, No Account, No Payment

The public ImageDPIChanger DPI tool is currently provided for free. It does not require an account, subscription, payment card, paid plan, or login to use the core DPI conversion function.

If ImageDPIChanger later offers paid, account-based, support, API, or other optional services, those services may be subject to additional or updated terms. The public free tool remains governed by these Terms unless we publish updated terms.

Local File Processing

The public DPI changer is designed to process supported files in your browser. Your selected image is read locally, the DPI metadata is rewritten in browser memory, and the converted file is prepared for download on your device.

ImageDPIChanger does not intentionally upload your original or converted image files to our servers as part of the public DPI conversion workflow. You should still use trusted devices and browsers when working with private or confidential images.

Your Files and Ownership

You retain all rights to the images you process with ImageDPIChanger. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use, modify, and download the files you select.

Because the public tool does not receive uploaded image files for conversion, ImageDPIChanger does not claim ownership of your images and does not receive a license to use them.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • selecting files that you have the right to process;
  • confirming that the converted file meets your intended requirement;
  • keeping your original files and backups;
  • protecting your device, browser, and downloads;
  • complying with all applicable laws and third-party requirements.

Do not rely on ImageDPIChanger as the only copy of any important file. The tool is a metadata utility, not a storage or backup service.

What DPI Metadata Can and Cannot Do

DPI/PPI metadata can change how an existing pixel grid is interpreted for print size or intake checks. It cannot create missing pixels, restore detail, improve sharpness, or guarantee that a third-party website, printer, publisher, agency, or submission portal will accept a file.

Different software may read image metadata differently. You should verify downloaded files with the system or workflow that matters for your use case.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use ImageDPIChanger to:

  • violate any law, regulation, or third-party right;
  • process files that you do not have the right to use;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, scan, or attack the website or its infrastructure;
  • bypass security, rate limits, access controls, or technical restrictions;
  • introduce malware or harmful code;
  • use automated access in a way that harms availability or performance;
  • misrepresent the capabilities of the tool or use converted metadata to deceive a third party.

Intellectual Property

ImageDPIChanger, including its name, website design, text, interface, code, and other original materials, is owned by ImageDPIChanger or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not give you ownership of ImageDPIChanger or the right to copy, resell, frame, mirror, or misuse the website except as permitted by applicable law.

No Professional Advice

ImageDPIChanger provides a technical metadata tool. It does not provide legal, design, archival, photographic, publishing, printing, or regulatory advice. You are responsible for checking any submission, printing, publication, or compliance requirement that applies to your image.

Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of ImageDPIChanger at any time. We try to keep the public tool useful and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, permanent availability, compatibility with every browser, or support for every image format.

Third-Party Websites and Services

ImageDPIChanger may link to third-party websites or rely on standard infrastructure providers for hosting, DNS, security, and delivery. We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or services.

Disclaimer of Warranties

ImageDPIChanger is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and error-free operation.

We do not warrant that converted files will satisfy every printer, software tool, submission portal, or third-party requirement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ImageDPIChanger will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, files, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the website.

Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by that law.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold ImageDPIChanger harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the website, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Termination or Restriction

We may restrict or block access to ImageDPIChanger if we reasonably believe that use of the website violates these Terms, creates security risk, harms service availability, or violates applicable law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when the website, legal requirements, or our practices change. The updated date at the top of this page shows when the Terms were last revised. Continued use of ImageDPIChanger after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
